GOODBYE
No sooner had you driven off
When I ran after you
But you sped away so fast
There was nothing I could do;
You didn't forget your guitar
You packed your favourite tie
But baby when you left me
You forgot to say goodbye.
You used to forget to take
Your medication before bed
And I'd have to remind you
So you wouldn't wake up dead;
You always forgot your wallet
So I'd bring it to your job
Along with your lunchbox
I'd tuck love notes inside.
I noticed you forgot the dog
And left the bills for me
You even left your wedding ring
And a whole set of keys;
One fit that old brass safe
Remember your dad died?
There's a million silver dollars
He left to us inside!
So I guess you're alone now
But maybe not for long
If my memory serves me right
You're with that bottled blond;
I'll be flying over in a plane
Winking with both eyes
On my way around the world
I just wanted to say goodbye.
Au Revoir.....
