OUR PAUL
He's not just any Frenchman
He's not just any man
He's more than a guitar picker
In a small country band;
He's more than a gourmet cook
Inside a fancy mall
He's a diamond in the rough
He's 'our Paul'.
When he's frying pork scraps
Or when he's driving fast
He is always genuine
Does not live in the past;
Sometimes it's a struggle
To find an English word
Don't try to teach him:
"What do you mean by 'verb'?"
He's had his health concerns
But is always optimistic
Pickin', cooking, shopping
Never seen him go ballistic;
He's not just a Bluenoser
He's everybody's friend
And he'll be there for you & I
Until the very end.
So we are blessed to have him
Even in small increments
Especially on the radio
Playing his instrument;
He should be on the Opry
Or playing major league ball
But we are really very glad
That he is just 'our Paul.'
He's not just any Frenchman
He's not just any man
He's more than a guitar picker
In a small country band;
He's more than a gourmet cook
Inside a fancy mall
He's a diamond in the rough
He's 'our Paul'.
