JUST IN CASE

Just in case he sees me
I always look my best
And just in case he calls me
I get lots of rest;
I want to be on my toes
Sweep him off his feet
Just in case he wants me
To make his ol' heart beat.

I wonder if he's wishing
We were back together
Someone told me yesterday
He's "under the weather";
So just in case he gets sick
I'm dressing as a Nurse
'Cuz just in case he needs me
I want to be there first.

Friends remind me it's been years
Seventeen in fact
That they think I'm crazy
He ain't coming back;
But just in case they are wrong
I'll wear his favourite scent
I'll shop & shop until I drop
If it takes my every cent.

So when he called me yesterday
I almost lost my mind
When he rode up on his bike
I wished that I was blind;
His hair and teeth both were GONE
He spoke with a lisp
"Juth in cathe you mithed me
I brought you a "Coffee Cripth"!!"
