LETTER FROM HEAVEN
God said: "What are you doing, my child?"
As I scribbled on some plain, lined paper
He treated us all in the very same way
The homeless, rich, crippled & leper;
"I'm writing to all my loved ones
Who still dwell on your earth below,"
And as he touched my dark brown hair
He asked: "If I'd send you back, would you go?"
He walked away while I thought it all over
And it didn't take me long at all
To know just where I wished to live
But how I wished that I could call:
Each one below to reassure them
How perfect and serene this feels
Living with Jesus my Saviour
Watching Him work as He heals.
But then I thought of my family there
Down on that place called Earth
The land where I first learned to love
The wonderful land of my birth;
I missed my friends and my neighbors
And a very special dog and man
My heart ached to hold them both
Then I felt my Saviour's hand.
I wrote down " How I miss you, darling
And I wish we were still together
But I'm so happy to have just been told
God promised to deliver this letter;
I know you won't think that it's true
But I hope that you will believe
In miracles and in the power of prayer
And that this last letter's from me."
I watched as an Angel swooped it up
And as it left for it's destination
I thanked God with all my heart
It was cause for a big celebration;
I washed His feet and he just smiled
As we worshipped in Heaven together
Soon the Angel returned on wings
Having delivered my letter........
