THAT I MISS YOU TONIGHT
The yellow moon follows me
As I walk the city streets
He follows me inside a bus
We pass the folks in their seats;
He gets off when I do
Still so full and bright
Somehow, I think he knows
That I miss you tonight.
He walks me safely home
And as I find my keys
He's still hanging there
When I get on my knees;
I close the shade so he can't see
Me cry myself to sleep
And when I wake up tomorrow
He'll never know I weep.
Now the sun is laughing
As it keeps me company
I feel it's hot breath
Aimed straight down at me;
I swim alone at the shore
Wiithout a soul in sight
Until I tell the moon again
That I miss you tonight.
The moon & sun protect me
But the stars are like no other
They wink at me like you did
When you were my lover;
They all seem to guide me
All shining new & bright
They know without me saying
That I miss you tonight.
And I just wanted you to know
That I miss you tonight.
